CoWORK Episode 1 – The Dog days of the Entrepreneur

Post Author: Chris. That building in your town, with lots of people coming in and out, working on tables and chairs, or even small offices.  Everybody wants to know what it is all about. So how do you explain it? The truth is, that its just like any other office…. but filled with people, who […]

These major coworking events will take place in 2015

Almost 300,000 people have worked in nearly 6000 coworking spaces worldwide by the end of this year. The coworking movement acquires maturity, expanding with bigger spaces and more locations, an higher diversity of business models, and exploring more niches. This development will be also reflected in more coworking events next year. Asia's first coworking unconference will be held in Bali, which also allows you to turn a simple visit into a sunny coworkation. The Global Coworking Unconference Conference is going to California. However, it won't take place only once, but three times, by popping up in Australia and Canada as well. And Africa will get its first dedicated conference on coworking, in Cape Town. It's time to mark your fresh calendar with the upcoming major events on coworking in 2015!

Planning for 2015 and beyond: A 31-day challenge

Over the years, I’ve had tons of ideas for different projects, business ideas, and other vague visions of the future. Lately, however, I’m finding myself needing to zero in. I want to feel like I am consistently working toward something, instead of letting my attention waver from day to day or month to month. While I value having […]

Let’s Talk About 2015 Expectations

I love a new year. It’s all about clean slates and possibilities. Anything could happen. This could be the year everything changes and gets a million percent better. It could be the year everything clicks. It could be the first day of the rest of your life. I truly believe that it’s possible to just get better and better every year. . . even if it's just in teeny tiny increments.

Local Gifting: Holiday Shopping Guide to Boston & Cambridge

Reality check: there are only 2 weeks left until Christmas, and only 5 days left until Hanukkah starts. If you’re like us, the whole holiday season really snuck up on you. One day we were gorging ourselves on turkey and stuffing, and the next day trees, lights, and trimming were suddenly everywhere. While the temptation to run out, buy everyone on your list a Target gift card and call it a day is real (and hard to resist), don’t give…

How we made Creative Density People First

From the outside many companies, journalist, and general people relate coworking to a space with desks and people with headphones on. That’s not coworking. That’s workspace. Coworking is a community that focuses on people first, space second. Back in 2005 when coworking was coined and created in it’s current form by coder Brad Neuberg in San Francisco it wasn’t because […]
